Multi sectoral approach to TB response
TB has for a long time been given a purely medical approach, the mathectral approach to TB response was recommended as one way to de medicalise TB response and address it as a socio economic problem. the approach therefore, mobilises other non medical development sectors and partners to identify there role in TB response inlign with there core mandates. WHO has recommended a multi sectral accountability framework to hold accountable this sectors and their contributions for TB and be able to monitor their contribution. StopTB-Kenya has been engaging with the NTP to establish the multi secteral accountability framework. STP-K on it’s part has mobilised other sectors and stakeholders including civil societies, communities, religious sector, celebrities, parliamentarians, other ministries including Ministry of Education and Horticultural industries among others.
